World in Conflict is a wonderful game and it lives up to its vision. The premise is farily simple, the year is 1989 and instead of collapsing the Soviet Union goes the opposite direction and invades due to its fear of eventual collapse. The tanks roll into West Germany and NATO is doing its best to halt the Soviet advance. At the same time, using commercial cargo freighters, the USSR lands on US soil in Seattle Washington. So, its basically World War 3. However, before you ask why they didn't go nuclear, jsut remember it is 1989, the Ruskies still think that the SDI program "Star Wars" was working. While most gaming sites have spent some time meticulously pouring over game elements in order to come up with some ridiculous quantitative value to represent the fun they had (or didn't), I propose something a little different. I feel that quantitative reviews are, frankly, garbage. I don't think that for films, however, but video games especially deserve a better system than numbers to rate their quality.
